a few questions

hello,

I am very interested in this research I have been doing.  I am a 
student of the University of Toronto.  

I have a few  questions in which maybe someone can help me
out:

why is the genome of the zebrafish a good one to sequence?  I 
know its a vertebrate like humans, but I'm still not sure what 
conclusions I can draw from this.  

what is the current status of the sequencing of the genome (I know 
its well-underway) and who is working on the sequencing amd what 
have they found?
