A full time Research Assistant is sought in the Department of Cell
Biology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with a
starting date of October 1, 2002. The successful applicant will
perform molecular biology, molecular genetic, and embryological
experiments aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanisms that
guide embryonic blood vessel development using the zebrafish as a
model system. A Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology,
Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field is required, with at least
one year's independent research experience either as part of a
degree program or post-baccalaureate. Preference will be given to
those candidates with molecular biology experience who have
strong organizational, analytical, computational, and written and
oral communication skills. Some knowledge of developmental
biology, database design and maintenance, and microscopy
techniques a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience. To
