another site I've found to be of use is 
http://aquaticpath.umd.edu/fhm/ which has some nice histology, 
too. Although it is about the 'Fathead Minnow', this is another small 
freshwater cyprinid, and while there may be detailed differences, 
the basic anatomy looks similar.
