question about zebrafish

Hi Jonathan,
A zebrafish is always an animal. As long as the fish is intact as a whole
organism, any experiments performed would be considered in vivo. It is
true that zebrafish are sensitive to touch near the end of the first day,
and an anesthetic should be used whenever they may possibly experience
pain. It is not entirely known at what point they actually sense pain
above and beyond touch, but to be on the safe and humane side, it is a
good idea to use the anesthetic after 24 hours.
