To enhance the rate of transfer of mutation technology and findings of the 
Human Genome Project to clinical and research problems.

To discuss any aspects of Mutation in any organism.

To discuss environmental mutagenesis and Mutation mechanism.

1.	New mutation detection technologies and problems.

Please post any suggestions, questions, new findings relevant to any 
aspects of mutation research on mutations themselves.  The area covered 
will be from model organisms, through commercial organisms, animals and 
plants to human disease and diagnosis.  This will include databases, 
nomenclature, methods, 
etc.

POSSIBLE ITEMS TO BE POSTED

1.	New methods and improvements to methodology or strategies for 
mutation detection.

2.	Notification of imminent publication of the above.

3.	Help notes: delineation of problems on which help is needed.

4.	Notification of meetings concerning mutations.

5.	Notification of databases and invitation for submissions.

6.	Suggestions for articles in the literature.

7.	Ideas for databases.

8.	Positions available and wanted.

9.	Equipment available and wanted. (NOTE - Commercial
        advertisements are not allowed on the BIOSCI/bionet newsgroups.)

10.	Suggestions.


Subscribers interested in all aspects of mutation are welcome from 
academic and commercial institutions.  Contributions consistent with the 
objective of this new group are encouraged.  It is anticipated that a 
major initial discussion topic will be human gene mutation specific 
databases.
