Newsgroup charter:

The purpose of this newsgroup is to provide an interactive forum for
discussion of issues pertinent to research in pharmaceutical
biotechnology.  It is intentional that the area of interest be
broadly defined, as "biotechnology" covers many scientific disciplines.
A partial list of topics would include: gene therapy, protein
therapeutics, production of therapeutic biomolecules,  stability of
bio-products (formulation and preformulation), oligonucleotides,
delivery, characterization of bio-molecules, pharmacokinetics, dosage
forms, vaccines, etc.  While the newsgroup is not intended for
discussion of more conventional drugs, biotech approaches to improving
the performance of more conventional therapeutics would be suitable
topics for discussion. While licensing and patent issues are dealt
with in other forums, such discussions would not be inappropriate for
this newsgroup.  Pertinent announcements of scientific meetings would be
welcome.  No advertisement of commercial products will be tolerated, but
questions regarding use of particular products are appropriate and
individual researchers may report results which specify products.
As this is a public forum, it will be the responsibility of individual
posters to protect their own proprietary information.

Material which would be welcome for posting includes:
1) questions or discussion of a technical or scientific nature,
2) scientific results,
3) notice of scientific meetings.
