To follow up on an earlier posting from Larry Parnell on the
subject of annotation:
We have been using different conference/meetings to
ask for help to improve the annotation, but Larry's idea of using this
platform is a very
good one. Therefore, the TIGR group currently sequencing Chr2 of the weed
genome, would like solicitate your input on our annotation.
The annotation we produce in a genome project is far from
complete/perfect. They are intended as a clue for futher experimental
studies. Several genes we annotated have been corrected based on futher
experimental evidence produced in different labs (and they kindly let us
know, THANKS!)
TIGR annotation is available at GenBank as well as our web site:
http://www.tigr.org/tdb/at/atgenome/completed.html
>From our website you can see the evidence we used in our annotation of
each gene.
So, if you have know any gene/feature annotated by us should be
corrected/improved, please let us know by e-mail to me <xlin at tigr.org> or
<at at tigr.org>. Your input will be acknowledged in our annotation submitted to
genbank as well as on our website.
Thank you for making AGI sequence and annotation a useful resource.
