The ISPMB's Mendel database

The Mendel Bioinformatics Group is committed to developing high quality and
reliable databases, primarily for the plant scientific community. This
necessarily relies on continued funding and the support of the community.
Mendel db records more than 100 to 200 accesses every week, however, due to
lack of resourcing continued development of the Mendel db will no longer be
possible at the John Innes Centre. The Mendel Bioinformatics Group will
continue to maintain Mendel db on its web server solely as a database of plant
gene nomenclature. The BBSRC resourced databases containing gene families and
annotated ESTs and STS sequences will continue to be developed and supported
for the benefit of the scientific community (http://www.mendel.ac.uk/). These
databases will also be mirrored at Stanford (http://genome-www.stanford.edu/).

All further communications regarding the Mendel database should be directed to
the Commission of Plant Gene Nomenclature (cpgn at mbcl.rutgers.edu), from whom a
TAB delimited file of Mendel db (v6.0) is available. The Mendel database ACEDB
files are freely available at ftp://jiio6.jic.bbsrc.ac.uk/pub/mendel/OUTgoing/.
