JOHN INNES CENTRE
A Research Assistant is required to carry out experiments in Arabidopsis
developmental genetics. It is also expected that the successful candidate
will execute, update and improve molecular biology protocols and train
other laboratory members on current protocols. The work will include the
organisation of seed and plasmid stocks, the preparation of stock solutions
and the purchase of laboratory consumables.
Candidates should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant biological
science or 3 years relevant experience in molecular biology and a solid
understanding of the principles behind molecular biology methods.
Attention to detail and the ability to work with care and precision are
essential to this post together with good organisational and communication
The salary will be in the scale of £13,700 to £16,500 per annum and staff
have the opportunity to join a non-contributory superannuation scheme.
