The next New England Arabidopsis Meeting is next week, Wednesday, June
the 2nd, 2004 at the McGovern Auditorium of the Whitehead Institute,
MIT (http://www.wi.mit.edu/) Pizza and drinks starting at 5:40 p.m.;
Talks starting at 6 p.m. The speakers will be:
Dr. Merianne Alkio (Post-Doc in A.Colon-Carmona Lab, Umass Boston):
"Both seed set and seed filling in sunflower (Helianthus annuus) are
governed by photoassimilate transport and source-sink ratio"
Dr. Jose M. Arguello (Assistant Professor in Chemistry and
Biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute ): "Arabidopsis HMA2,
a heavy metal transport ATPase, controls Zn homeostasis"
Dr. Andrew Diener (Dr Frederick Ausubel's Lab: Department of Genetics,
Harvard Medical School): "Resistance to Fusarium wilt disease"
