Post Doctorate Research Associate
A Post Doctorate Research Associate in plant molecular biology and genetics will be available in Spring 2013. The successful candidate will conduct research on rice growth, soil nutrition, and gene mapping, cloning and molecular description for valuable traits.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in Plant Genetics and Breeding. Major duty includes a coordination of developing and genotypic / phenotypic evaluation of various mapping populations for traits related to disease resistances, grain yield and nutrition, analysis of genotypic / phenotypic data for gene mapping, fine mapping and cloning and development of molecular markers to be applied to marker-assisted breeding, and preparation of reports and manuscripts using the results from those analysis. The candidate should work cooperatively and friendly in a research team with technicians, BS, MS and Ph.D students, and part time helpers. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of qualification, three letters of recommendation, a resume and a letter of intent.
Initial contract will be for one year, with additional two years possible contingency on performance and funding. The salary will base on the qualification.
