Dear North American Arabidopsis community-
The ICAR conference site is up and ready for registration and dorm reservations.
Please share the information below broadly, especially the funding opportunities to your colleagues, postdocs, grad students since application deadline = March 10 for all funding (including new for this year- childcare subsidies). Most funding is limited to US based people since funding is from NSF which has restrictions.

For students and postdocs: We are co-organizing (with the Danforth) a special industry careers educational and networking session prior to the party (June 21). Tickets for this careers event are separate from the party, and one can attend one and not the other if they wish. Also there will be an opening day (Monday June 19) early career researchers workshop and panel (tickets available during registration/$10)
We’ve arranged inexpensive dorms ($68/night including taxes and breakfast!)- WashU dorms are a a straight shot on the metro to the meeting at the Hyatt.
Lab groups/friends can designate up to 4 people to share a suite (all private rooms) if they wish. Dorm reservation deadline: 12 May 2017, unless they fill up earlier so book early (via registration process).
Please note that the Danforth Center is hosting the ICAR 2017 party on Wednesday night, June 21, including an Open House with tours of their facilities. You won’t want to miss it. Director Jim Carrington and PI Blake Meyers are our local Danforth sponsors and we are grateful for the opportunity to share their advanced plant facilities and beautiful building with ICAR attendees. *Party tickets can be purchased during registration, Students and Postdocs only $25.
In NAASC tradition, each Concurrent Session chair will nominate one graduate student per session, on the basis of excellent research abstract submitted by 31 March to take part in a recognition luncheon during ICAR.
Encourage your graduate students to submit a research abstract for oral or poster presentation. Deadline to be considered for oral presentation: 31 March 2017. Deadline for Poster only: 12 May 2017.
