Are there any plans to make the latest EMBL sequences available via
anonymous ftp, rather than by the current mail system.
The following reasons would make it very convenient:
Anonymous ftp is faster than mail.
It means that there is no mail header that has to be stripped from the
returned sequence files.
It will be easy to implement incremental updates to the databases under
GCG v 7.0 with anonymous ftp, using the script for doing anonymous ftp
updates of the Genbank database as a template.
