There used to be a database of vector sequences and information
called Vecbase which has not been updated for years. Outdated as it is, it
is still very useful on occasion. Want to find a kanamycin resistance, p15B
ori plasmid with a single PstI site? Vecbase will tell you within seconds
that you are out of luck (or would if it were up to date), information that 
could take hours of library time to find otherwise.
