We have adopted the gopher server at bioftp.unibas.ch to the changing
environment in the biocomputing arena. If your gopher points to this
site you might want to review your links.
In particular, the definition of the WAIS searchable EMBL database changed;
the last full release of EMBL is now located at
Type=1+
Name=EMBL
Path=1/EMBL
Host=biox.embnet.unibas.ch
Port=13021
The daily updated EMBL database is supplemented by an 'Exclusion set'
of the GENBANK updates (updated weekly); based on Accession numbers all
entries of GENBANK not in EMBL yet are added to this query located at
Type=1+
Name=EMBL updates
Path=1/EMBL updates
Host=biox.embnet.unibas.ch
Port=13021
There are a couple of other changes, detailed posting see bionet.announce.
Please make sure to consult the Acceptable Use Policy statements of your
network provider and the servers you approach to assure proper operation.
