EMBL 55 available

Release 55 of the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database is available from
the EBI ftp server:
  ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/embl/release

Release 55 contains 2,330,040 sequences comprising 1,607,673,907
nucleotides, an increase of about 12.6% over release 54.

Please note that the GSS division (Genome Survey Sequences) is now
represented by two files
GSS1 and GSS1, and that there is an additional EST file (EST17) at this
release. Coss-references to
the Maize Genome Database (MaizeDB) have been added.

For those who mirror our cumulative update file (cumulative.dat.Z)
containing new and updated sequence data since the last full database
release,  please note  that this will be changed to include only
post-release 55 data at noon BST on Thursday June 18th.
