Release 74 of the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database is available from
the EBI ftp servers and other verified mirror sites as follows:

PLEASE try to use these mirror sites for download.

Release 74 is about 15.9GB compressed and 103GB uncompressed.
It contains 23,234,788 sequences comprising 30,356,786,718
nucleotides, an increase of about 8.8% over release 73. This release is
already available via EBI's SRS/Blast/Fasta search servers.

We have made efforts to assign more MEDLINE and PUBMED ids to journal
citations in the database, adding 25,645 MEDLINE ids and 120,739 PUBMED ids to
RX lines. Now approx. 130,000 out of 150,000 journal citations have such ids.
Note also that a new feature table qualifier "/mol_type" has been introduced
and this will become a mandatory item on entries at the next release in
July 2003, both in the feature table and on ID lines.

For those who mirror our cumulative update files containing new and updated
sequence data since the last full database release, please note that these
will be changed to include only post-release 74 data at
Wednesday Mar 19 16:00 GMT 2003.
