EMBL release 79 is available

Release 79 of the EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database is available from
the EBI ftp servers and other verified mirror sites as follows:

PLEASE try to use these mirror sites for download.

The EMBL Nucleotide Sequence Database was frozen to make Release 79 on
22-MAY-2004. The release contains 39,214,123 sequence entries
comprising 65,185,548,741 nucleotides, of which 4,339,341 entries
(25,524,702,140 nucleotides) are WGS (whole genome shotgun) data.
WGS entries are included into the release for the first time.
The total compressed file size is about 30 GB, and 187 GB
for the uncompressed.

For those who mirror our cumulative update files containing new and
updated
sequence data since the last full database release, please note that
these
will be changed to include only post-release 79 data at Tuesday, June
8th 14:00 GMT 2004.
