Dear Colleagues,
There is an opening for a postdoctoral position at the Centre de
Recherches de Biochimie Macromoléculaire (CNRS) in Montpellier, FRANCE.
Our research efforts focus on discovery and understanding of
sequence-structure-function relationships of proteins using methods of
theoretical structural biology (molecular modelling, bioinformatics
analysis).
One of our current projects aims at improvement of methods and tools for
detection of the repeats in the databases of protein sequences as well
as for prediction of the 3D structure and functions of these domains.
Our lab is located in the South of France, near the Mediterranean sea.
Montpellier is now a high-tech centre with numerous specialisations such
as biology, information technologies, agriculture, health and environment.
Profile of candidate:
PhD in Biology, Informatics or Bioinformatics
Competences: Programming, knowledge of biology, databases and internet
sites, administration of computers, knowledge of English.
Activities:
1. Research in the field of bioinformatics. 2. Administration of
computers and implementation of applications. 3. Development and
adaptation of bioinformatics tools for search and analysis of biological
data.
