A scientific assistant position is available at the laboratory of medical
biotechnologies at the ISS (for two years, renewable). The Scientific
Assistant is responsible for analyzing project data, writing grants,
manuscripts, and other publications, managing projects, and conducting
literature searches. In addition, the Scientific Assistant will assist the
Principal Investigator with other projects and duties on an as needed basis.
Some travel may be required to participate to oncology meetings.
The ideal candidate has developed a good knowledge in experimental oncology
(both cellular and molecular), as well as a sound understanding of the
experimental procedures of the field.
Excellent writing skills, as well as organizational skills and the capacity
to cope with close deadlines are required.
Qualifications include a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (molecular biology,
biochemistry, signal transduction or any related field that will facilitate
understanding of the ongoing research in the lab) or a Pharm D degree with a
special interest in oncology. Although not essential, up to 2 years post
graduate/post doctorate experience would be a plus as would any familiarity
with drug development.
