The postdoctoral fellow will be a part of the Cardiac Signal
Transduction and Cellular Biology Laboratory. The overall goal of the
laboratory is to understand how the formation of multimolecular
protein complexes confers specificity in intracellular signaling. A
major focus of the lab has been the mAKAP signalosome that
facilitates
crosstalk between cAMP, calcium and MAP-kinase signaling pathways and
that is important for the induction of myocyte hypertrophy. Other
interests include the identification of novel scaffolds for the
phosphatase calcineurin. A wide range of techniques are being used to
address these questions including the biochemical analysis of
recombinant proteins in vitro, transfection of primary cardiac
myocyte
cultures, live cell imaging and the generation of mutant mice models.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or equivalent. Enthusiastic
individuals with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell
biology or cardiac physiology are encouraged to apply.
