[Employment] HKU Post-doctoral Fellow

Department of Biochemistry

Applications are invited for the following appointments in the
Department of Biochemistry, from as soon as possible, for a period of
2 years and with the possibility of renewal.

1. Post-doctoral Fellow in Functional Proteomics (Ref.:
RF-2006/2007-300)

2.  Post-doctoral Fellow in Epigenetic Regulation of DNA Repair and
 Senescence and Ageing (Ref.: RF-2006/2007-361)

For post (1), a Ph.D. degree in protein biochemistry and a good
publication record. Experience in protein analysis using mass
spectrometry would be an advantage.  The appointee will work on
proteomic analysis of abnormal chondrocyte differentiation in mouse
mutant under the Area of Excellence programme of Developmental
Genomics & Skeletal Research. 

For post (2), a Ph.D. or M.D. degree with at least 2 years' research
experience in relevant fields, preferably epigenetics, and a proven
excellent track record in research. Candidates with innovative ideas
in applying new approaches/technologies are also encouraged to apply.
The appointee is expected to work on a project of premature ageing,
involving multi-disciplinary collaborations addressing key questions
in DNA repair, senescence, ageing, stem cells, B-cell development and
transformation.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience will be offered.  At current rates, salaries tax does not
exceed 16% of gross income.  The appointments carry leave, and
