Dear webmaster,
Could you please help post the follow postdoc position ad in the
"biojobs" list? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Ping Wang
Postdoctoral Associate
POSITION: Postdoctoral Associate position (2 years) in the Department
of Entomology, New York State Agricultural
Experiment Station, Cornell University, Geneva, NY 14456.
AVAILABLE: Immediately
RESEARCH: The successful applicant will join our project to study the
molecular structure and function of insect peritrophic membranes
(PMs), the extracellular matrix lining the digestive tract in
invertebrate animals. PMs play crucial roles in assisting digestion
and providing defense mechanisms, in interactions with host
organisms, microbes and chemical compounds, and in limiting
transmission of
plant and animal diseases. The research will focus on the PM proteins
and their functions using biochemical, molecular and physiological
approaches.
QUALIFICATIONS: Highly motivated recent Ph.D. in biological sciences
with training and research
experience in biochemistry and molecular biology. Knowledge in insect
physiology is helpful but not essential. Previous experience in protein
biochemistry or quantitative gene expression studies is a plus.
APPLICATION: Send curriculum vitae and names of three references by e-mail to:
