I am doing some fluorescent staining of an organism that has a fragile
lipoprotein. I am concerned that the membrane (lipoprotein) may be
changing during the three hours of incubation with the various primary and
secondary antibodies. Therefore, I would like to find an inactivating
agent that doesn't explode the bacteria and the agent will irreversibly
shut down the metabolic activity of the organism. ( I would prefer not to
heat fix or organically fix the organisms until just prior to viewing.)
Does anybody have any suggestions.
Many Thanks in advance.
