Non-leaky fluorescent dye ?

Hi,

To do long-term imaging, we're trying to find a fluorescent dye/compound
that does not leak out of cells (after microinjection). The few dyes we
tried (Carboxyfluorescein, Lucifer yellow, etc) leaked or were toxic.
Unfortunately, fluorescein-dextran (3kD) always clogged the
microinjection needle. Does anybody know why ?
We also looked at dye-sugar conjugates from Molecular Probes, but the
most promising candidate was discontinued. Are there any other suppliers
?

I know that there are probably zillions of suitable dyes out there, but
we're tired of try and error approaches. The only requirement besides
photostability and lack of toxicity is that the fluorescence excitation
is between 380-500nm (preferably around 450nm).

Thanks in advance.
