Detection of EGFP in knock-in mice

I have trouble detecting EGFP expression in tissues of my knock-in
transgenic
mouse from cryosection (too much background) or immunohistochemistry
(clontech's polyclonal
antibody), though I did see predicted signal in platelets and spleenocytes
by FACS.
