quenching fluorescence

Hello.
Could you suggest reagents that might be used on living cells to
quench Cy3 fluorescence? I am looking at endocytosis and would like to
quantitatively address the contribution from surface bound (uninternalized)
probe. Quenchers that can cross membranes will quench all fluorescence and
will not allow me to measure the amount that remains surface bound or the
amount that is internalized.
