Hi Corinne,
We´re just working with dsRed and EGFP constructs of our protein of interest,
as well as the empty vectors. We find that dsRed is **WAY** weaker that EGFP,
and it usually takes twice the time after transfection to see a good signal.
It is difficult to estimate the factor between red fluorescent protein and
EGFP in cells, but I´d say it is at least 10. We use a standard rhodamine
filter set.
