Domain of GFP responsible for fluorescence

All you may delete, is some 5 aminino acids at the c terminus. the 
fluorochrome ist formed from three aa around position 65 and hosted 
in a hydrophobical cage formed from the rest of the protein. maybe 
you are able to get hold of one of these nice pictures showing GFP's 
barrel structure, it is almost self explanatory.

What's the reason you want to delete these 55 AAs'?
