Leukocyte Marker absent in platelets

That was one approach I tried. I had a pair of primers that would
amplify a conserved region from all HLA-DR transcripts and my
reactions kept showing positive. On going back to the literature I
read reports that some megakaryocytes express Class II so it wouldn't
be inconceivable that the trasnscripts would be found in platelets.
Additionally one megakaryocytic cell line also expresses HLA-DR
message.
