Hi,
I understand that peptides are usually conjugated to KLH or BSA to raise
antibodies, but is there anything special about these proteins that helps
to produce a good immune response? Are they acting at all like a protein
adjuvant? And if not, are there any proteins that might? The idea being to
express a protein from a virus in vivo and to try and get a good immune
response to something that normally gives a poor one, by fusing 2 genes.
I suppose I could try a viral membrane protein that's known to give good
antibodies, but I'd rather use something from an unrelated system.
Any ideas appreciated!
