ACK Lysing of RBCs

I'm am doing some receptor binding assays with lymphocytes isolated from
spleen and using ACK lysing buffer (a la "Gold Book") to get rid of the
RBCs.  My yeilds are great but I wonder if the lysing buffer could be
damaging my membrane receptors.  Could _this_ explain my weak results?
