We have two different toxoids from different sources, one of which
gives a good immune response. The other causes a hypersensitivity reaction.
They were made from the same starting material and by the same protocol--
on paper. We believe that subtle differences, such as the quality of the
formaldehyde, the speed at which it was added, and the extent of polymer-
ization of the end product could affect the quality of the toxoid. Does
anyone have experience in producing toxoids or know of a good methods paper
that deals with issues like these?
