haematophages and the immune system

Hello,
I don't know if this is the correct group for this question, but
I was wondering, how do the haematophages, insects in particular, "defend"
themselves from all the elements of the immune system that are
found in the blood?, since there are specialized cells whose "jobs"
consist in harming unfamiliar elements, do the haematophages suffer some
kind of damage?.
If anyone can answer me or suggest some bibliography, I will be
very grateful. Thanks,
