The citation that William A. Blattner used for HIV causing AIDS was
Gallo, R.C. et al., Science 224:500-504 (1984). He called this work an
"unequivocal link [of HIV] as the cause of AIDS." This was in a review
article in FASEB Journal, July 1991. Since Gallo's paper, other papers
have come out with confirming evidence, such as Schechter et al., Lancet
341:658 (1993). Kary Mullis no doubt knows about these papers, and many
more, and rather than saying they don't exist, he should say what he finds
objectionble in them.
