Hi networkers,
In our laboratory we work on the toxic shock syndrom and more precisely on the
anergy of T cells consecutive to SEB injection.
It is clear that after a burst of activation of the V beta 8 expressing T cells,
these cells become anergic. That means that one or two weeks after injection of
SEB it is impossible to get a good response against the SEB in vitro.
Thus, I think that the superantigens could a way of active supression of the
immune response by inducing the anergy of a sub population of T cells.
Actually, superantigen is not my main subject, thus, I will discuss this question
more precisely with the team that works on this subject.
Best regards
