I would like to know what is the acceptable limits of LPS
contamination in preparations administered parenterally in
experimental animals. In particular, in experiments using
cytokines as modulators of the immune response in rats.
I am aware that sensitivity to LPS varies with the source of LPS,
genetic background of the animal and level of induced tolerance
to LPS. Despite these variables, is there a limit
for LPS contamination acceptable in the kind of experiments
described above.
Thank you.
