The immunoglobulin response to ABO blood groups is very restricted. There is
no class switching to IgG and if there was then it would cause tremendous
problems for ABO mismatched feotuses! This would cause problems way beyond
those of Rh incompatibilities! Not a very good example of memory of a T
dependent B-cell response.
