I am interested in cobra venum factor (CVF) as a molecule to deplete the
complement pathway in mice. If I deplete with a couple of
injections over a day or two, what are the effects of the cleavage
products of "this" C3 convertase. How long does the it take for the
effects of C3a to return to baseline. Are Mono's and Mac's
chemotactively activated for the half-life of C3a and C5a, or for 4
hours, 24 hours, 3 days or is this known??? What are the effects of
such cleavage products on phagocytosis and other functions, and again
how long are such effects sustained??
I am into medline and text's but have not found any clear data
addressing this issue. Any comments or suggestions would be great!
