: solubilization is always a problem.  Try an aqueous form called XTT
Solubilisation of MTT is possible by adding 100 µl (i.e same volume as is
already in the well) of a solution containing 50g of SDS, 0.5 ml HCl and 500 ml
of H2O.
This is left overnight at 37 C. before the O.D is measured in an ELISA reader.
