Dr. Alfred T. Sapse, M.D., president of Cortisol Medical
Research Inc., announced today the signing of a licensing
contract with Sainel Industria e Comercio of Brazil, for Sainel
to have exclusive rights to sell Anticort in certain countries of
South America, Africa, and Asia. Cortisol Medical Research Inc.
has assigned the contract to Steroidegenesis Inhibitors Inc. a
newly formed Nevada coroporation.
Anticort is a drug belonging to a new classification of
drugs, the anti-cortisols or steroidegenesis in hibitors; drugs
capable of bringing down cortisol previously elevated, at
immunosuppressor levels, down to normal, according to Dr. Sapse,
"and Anticourt is a forerunner."
Independent confirmation on the role of cortisol in AIDS was
recently establised with the publication of the Proceeding of the
Academy of Sciences (Vol. 92 pp 3621-3625, April 1995), in an
article bt Drs. Weiner, Levi, and Rafaeli of the U. of
Pennsylvania.
The study team showed that by blocking cortisol with an
anti-cortisol drug (RU-486) not only does it block cortisol, but
drops production of HIV by 70% in the infected cells.
