If I could answer your question helpfully, I would. I was addressing
the poster from Japan, since I do have some understanding relevant
to his question. The only expression of CD4 on APCs that I am
familiar with is that on human or rat T cells.
Where did you learn that CD4 is expressed on other APCs?
: somewhat. I am reasonably aware of the consequences of CD4 on T cells.
: But what of professional APCs?
I remember reading a paper that asserted that human T cells do
function as professional APCs. Both sides of that coin have been well
disputed without resolve.
: Since reading some replies, the question must be modified to:- APC in
: humans? could it be..
: Adhesion? - To T cells or tissue cells?
: Signalling?
: Adhesion and singalling?
: Involved in activation?
: Involved in migration upon activation?
: all of them?
: or not really expresed at all, but just an artifact left over from T
: -cells?
