I tried Promega's nonradioactive kit, and the readings I got were low (all
around) and fairly inconclusive. I also wanted to avoid radioactivity,I
broke down and did the tritiated thymidine method and got very good
results. I had tried the kit a few times, so it wasn't only a one time
thing. I don't know if the thymidine method is the cheapest, but it does
seem to be very reliable. The only thing is you have to also have a
harvester.
