MEETING NOTICE
Thursday, December 7, 1995

North Carolina Regulatory Affairs Forum
(a local forum for those interested in regulatory affairs)

P.O. Box 13474
Research Triangle Park, NC 27709-3474

Meeting Topic:
  Partnering With FDA
  Presentation and Discussion

Speaker:
  John H. Turner
  Regional Food and Drug Director
  FDA, Southeast Region

Mr. John Turner is responsible for directing the programs of FDA
carried out in the Southeast Region of the United States. In April
of this year, a workshop was sponsored by FDA in Atlanta during
which FDA and representatives from the food, device and
pharmaceutical industries explored ways to strengthen the
industry-FDA partnership. Areas of common interest and concern
were discussed in an open and honest dialogue. Mr. John Turner
has agreed to join NCRAF at our December 7th meeting to bring this
discussion of an FDA-industry partnership to our area. The
discussion will give us an opportunity to hear what progress has
been made in this initiative, and to offer suggestions on how
industry and FDA can work together to better meet the needs of the
country. We expect a thought provoking discussion that could lead
to positive changes in the regulatory process, and in the working
relationships between FDA and the regulated industries. We encourage
you to join us on Thursday, December 7.
