Several companies now carry kits that measure total p40 chain.  I am not
sure whether a heterodimer specific kit is available.  Just wanted to
point out that as apposed to other cytokines IL12 is a heterodimer and
free p40 is secreted in large quantities from cells.  Although the levels
fo p40 often are increased when biologically active p70 is released one
should be cautious when using these non biological assays.
