Associate Professor or Professor of Immunology, Health, and Management
West Texas A&M University, a Member of The Texas A&M University System,
invites applications for the position of Associate Professor or Professor
of Immunology, Health, and Management. The University is seeking an
innovative and dynamic educator and researcher with a record of leadership
to develop a nationally recognized program in immunology/health,
nutrition, and management of growing-finishing beef cattle. This is a
cooperative program with the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in
Amarillo and the College of Veterinary Medicine at College Station.
Qualifications for the position include:
A Ph.D. degree in Immunology or related area and a D.V.M. degree with
emphasis on growing-finishing cattle.
A superior record of achievement in University teaching, research, and
service with a publication record appropriate for an associate
professorial or professorial appointment; five years or more of experience
in conducting research in beef cattle immunology/health, nutrition, and
management; experience in research project leadership in feedlot animal
health; and a record of independent research.
A commitment to quality teaching, research, and service in beef cattle
feedlot immunology/health, nutrition, and management, and the Total
Quality Management and food quality and safety programs of the livestock
industry.
Interpersonal skills, vision, and desire to establish working
relationships with external constituents in the beef cattle feeding
industry.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
