If I remember correctly, the levels of chorionic gonadotropin (hGH) in
a pregnant woman's urine are high enough that, if injected into a rabbit,
will cause characteristic changes in the rabbit's uterine or ovarian
tissues. I believe the test was known as the "Friedman test."
In any case, the "rabbit died" irrespective of the outcome of the test!
