There's been a vaccine against tuberculosis around for ages. It is a live
vaccine with a strain of M. Bovis (called Calmette-Guerin or BCG). Vaccination
at birth is mandatory in some countries where tuberculosis is a severe public
health problem. Although it is very effective preventing life threatening
forms of the disease like meningitis, it isn't so good against pulmonar
tuberculosis.
