difficult transfert in western blots

You might try:

1) use 10% methanol in your transfer buffer rather than 20%.  That's what 
we do when transfering large proteins.  It's got something to do with 
methanol fixing the protein in the gel, making it more difficult for the 
protein to leave the gel.
2) transfer for a longer period of time.
3) both 1&2 above.
