Transgenic T-cell receptor mice

Because of allelic exclusion, theoretically only the transgenic TCR should
be expressed. However in practice this is not true. This is partially
because the alpha chain is not subject to allelic exclusion so there can
be up to three alpha chains in the T cells. The percentage of
non-transgenic T cells can be substantial. However, breeding to the Rag
KO mice alleviates this problem entirely.
